At the Senders we pride ourselves on helping to develop young freestyle Skiers and Snowboarders.

We cater to all levels of freestyle riders and have positions available to coach and develop at all levels.  Our coaches develop opportunities to Snowboard for income and some have the opportunity to travel to some of the most incredible Snowboarding locations in the World.

Snowboard Coaching Positions available

​

To become a Senders Freestyle Snowboard Coach... 

These courses are required for every level of freestyle coach before they can start coaching.

  • NCCP Make Ethical Decisions - REGISTER - ($75/Scheduled/Online or In-Person) Provided by the Coaches Association of Ontario

  • Make Ethical Decisions Online Evaluation - (Free/Online/available in THE LOCKER after completion of Make Ethical Decisions training)

  • Safe Sport Training - REGISTER - (Free/Available Anytime/Online)

  • Making Headway in Freestyle Snowboardingi - REGISTER - (Free/Available Anytime/Online)

In addition to the above online courses you will require the following: 

Canada Snowboard Comp Intro 3 day on snow course completion (Courses take place in early/mid December in Ontario, reimbursement is available both through coaching grants and The Senders).

Intermediate Coaches (Senders Programs) 

Expected Skill Level:

Male: you should be able to competently complete 540s and 720s over medium sized jumps and be able to competently ride rails from a side entry (street style). 

​

Female: you should be able to competently complete 360s over medium sized jumps and be able to competently ride rails from a side entry (street style).

Intermediate Freestyle Coach On-Snow Courses Required::

Freestyle Canada Skiing Skills and Park/Pipe Course completion (Courses take place in early/mid December, reimbursement is available both through coaching grants and The Senders).

Intermediate Freestyle Coach Expected Skill Level:

Male: you should be able to competently complete 540s and 720s over medium sized jumps and be able to competently ride rails from a side entry (street style). 

​

Female: you should be able to competently complete 360s over medium sized jumps and be able to competently ride rails from a side entry (street style).

Personal Attributes: 

Should be friendly, punctual, patient and posses strong communication skills.  Must be willing to work with a team of like-minded coaches.  Previous coaching experience an asset, but not mandatory.  The coaching applicant will be working with our youngest team riders from the ages of 7-12 and must be responsible and reliable.  Must be open to feedback and increased learning opportunities from our experienced coaches.

 

Certifications Required: 

Must complete the Canada Snowboard Competition Intro Course.  Course consists of 3 days on snow in early December.  Bursaries are available to reimburse course fees, contact us for details. This is a minimum requirement for our insurance policy.  CASI Level 1 or 2 would be an asset at this level.  All coaches must also complete on online criminal background check and vulnerable sector search.

Level of riders applicant will be working with:

Young riders aged between 7-12 looking to learn how to safely use a terrain park, turn and control their Snowboard, Learn the most basic foundational freestyle skills including  basic jumping and grabs, Boxes and ride-on rails.  Opportunities to grow and further coaching beyond that level exist within our structure and organization.

Schedule:

9:00am-3:30pm with 1/2 hour lunch break, Saturday/Sunday in season according to the following Schedule..

November 30/31 Training Weekend

December 7/8,14/15,21/22,28,29 Shadow and assistant days with regular program coaches

January 4th, First Day of program coaching

5/11/12/18/19/25/26

February 1/2/8/9/15/16/22/23/29

March 1 Last day of Program (Possibility of further extended dates)

Compensation:

Pay rates start at $20.00 per hour and increase yearly based on experience, team member feedback and fellow coach feedback.

A full Mt. St. Louis-Moonstone seasons pass is also provided. (Cost refunded if already purchased).

Intermediate Freestyle Coach x 2

Riding Ability:

Should be a strong rider, capable of performing solid spins up to 360 or 540, basic slides and presses on rails, spins on/off and basic inverts an asset but not required.  Smooth riding style an asset.  Competitive experience an asset.
